02
Flagstaff is officially the planet's first International Dark Sky City. Lowell Observatory hosts evening telescope viewings, and on a clear night the Milky Way is visible from sidewalks downtown.
03
Mother Road, Historic Brewing Co., Dark Sky Brewing, Lumberyard, Flagstaff Brewing. All within a few blocks. Most stay open past 10 PM and several pour beers brewed on site.
04
Charly's Pub & Grill inside the Weatherford Hotel and the restaurants at Hotel Monte Vista both serve dinner inside two of the most reported haunted hotels in Arizona. The food is good. The history is better.
05
Live music, comedy, indie films, and touring acts inside a Flagstaff landmark that has been operating since 1917. Check the marquee on Aspen Avenue or the venue's calendar before you go.
06
Heritage Square is the heart of downtown Flagstaff after dark. Live music in summer, a fire pit in winter, and a short loop past historic facades, alley murals, and most of the bars and restaurants on this list.
07
Macy's European Coffeehouse stays open well past dinner most nights. Firecreek Coffee Co. on San Francisco Street is the local favorite for a late espresso before driving back to your hotel.
08
The Hotel Monte Vista's vertical sign and the historic Route 66 neon along Santa Fe Avenue light up after dark. Bring a tripod or rest your phone on a railing for long-exposure shots.
09
Freaky Foot Tours also runs a guided downtown pub crawl that combines local breweries with Flagstaff history. A natural pairing if you're already in town for the ghost tour.
